I’ve been dabbling in Kundalini for the last few years. A YouTube video here. An OnDemand class there. But recently I’ve gotten pretty serious about the practice – I now go to classes and even started buying books on the topic. I haven’t really shared about it here, because it looks pretty weird from the outside and definitely sounds really weird when you try to explain it. This site is all about taking one part at time and Kundalini felt like a lot of parts at a time. But the more I do it, the better I feel. Things shift inside me. My brain feels clearer. And my mood is not as, um, moody. So I felt like it was time to share. I also realized that what seems weird to me might completely be your norm. What’s that old saying about “assuming”? Yes, I was kind of being an ass about it.
So I reached out to one of my favorite teachers, Ra Ma Kaur, to explain all things Kundalini. She truly knows her stuff. And, by the way, has the most soothing voice while talking about all that stuff she knows.
Ra Ma and I discuss Kundalini yoga (what it is, how it works, and why it’s about to “pop” in the mainstream), how we can tune into our not-so-positive habits and begin to change them, why it’s important to explore new ways to let our guards down, and how this cult-looking (it’s not one) form of yoga is different than anything you’ve ever experienced – and just might change your life.
Here’s Ra Ma:
