Description: We kept the tight end controversy questions in check. Or tried to. There’s plenty to talk about with the Hawkeyes. We give the Illinois game some time. We chop through some of what Nebraska is or isn’t. Friday should be interesting. One program will come out of it with more momentum than it had going in. We actually got into some future talk. What maybe could happen with players and positions during bowl prep. Who’s center next year? Would Iowa’s OL be better if tackle Tristan Wirfs moved to guard? If Iowa loses all of its tight ends this year, would a linebacker making the jump to offense make sense? The bowl stuff feels like the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, but if Penn State gets pulled into the New Year’s 6, what then? Jeff gives us the term “Sub-Mendoza Line.” Apropos after last week. That was the abyss. Most underrated Hawkeye? I went with WR Nick Easley. It’s too early for anything definitive regarding Hawkeyes and NFL early entry, for what it’s worth. Deadline for college players to apply for special eligibility to the NFL draft is Jan. 14. A list of players accepted into the draft will be sent to teams Jan. 18. In case it comes up.
