The authorities in the USA and the EU have treated reassuring but inadequate studies as if they were reliable, but discounted all the worrying studies as if they were unreliable, when they have mostly been far more careful, thorough and reliable than the reassuring studies that the authorities have preferred. The preferences and choices of those authorities have served, and are serving, the interests of the food, drink and chemical industries, but they are betraying the consumers who they are supposed to protect.
