	Description:		In June 2018, following a Hockey Canada gala in London, Ontario, a young woman alleged she was sexually assaulted by members of Canada’s gold medal winning World Junior hockey team. The case was investigated and closed without charges, and the public remained unaware for years. That changed in 2022, when a civil lawsuit and quiet settlement from the sport’s regulating body Hockey Canada exposed the allegations. The fallout triggered parliamentary hearings, sponsor withdrawals, leadership resignations, and a reopened criminal investigation that culminated in a high profile trial against five of the men involved, all now NHL players.
