President Trump has unilaterally cancelled next month's planned summit with the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un. In a letter to Mr Kim, President Trump said the meeting would be inappropriate because of what he called the "tremendous anger and open hostility" shown by the North Korean leader in recent statements. The meeting was cancelled just hours after North Korea carried out a series of explosions that it said demolished its main nuclear test site.
