Donald Trump has sacked a Federal Reserve governor for alleged mortgage fraud, as he steps up attempts to exert control over the US central bank. In a statement, Mr Trump accused Lisa Cook of gross negligence. He has said he will only appoint governors who support his position. Also, the head of a Malagasy king killed by French troops during a colonial-era war has been formally returned to Madagascar, Australia has accused Iran of directing antisemitic attacks in Melbourne and Sydney, and is expelling Tehran's ambassador, and the fight in Florida over Alligator Alcatraz.
