Dr Squat set a world record in squat of 1014lbs at 45 years old in 1987 that was the year I was born! He was also the Founder of Men’s fitness magazine and the International Sports Science Association (my certification) as well as written 120 different fitness books. Id like to welcome on Fred Hatfield…What’s up DR Squat thanks for coming on -So Dr Squat, tell our listeners more about you, how you got into fitness and your story? -So we have all heard of the Hatfield squat, most people will use a safety bar squat and call it a Hatfield squat but we understand that the original Hatfield squat was a different design…can you explain the differences and the reasoning behind doing that movement? -So lets talk about your squat…you managed to squat 1014lbs at 255lbs…training principles now a days are way different then you used…how did you used to train and how did you train leading up to that squat? -In addition to being a great powerlifter you started a personal training certification…actually I have been with the ISSA since 2005…how did you get started with personal trainers and what made you think of that idea?
