Taste of the Week

October 21, 2025

Welcome to… Taste of the Week!

Amid pumpkin spice lattes and falling leaves, Halloween is just 11 days away!

This week at Heritage Radio Network, one of your favorite shows got a fresh new look. Plus we’ve got the inside scoop on how to have the best weekend upstate (no gatekeeping here).

Tune in and see what’s cooking at HRN—because the future of food always starts with a story.

New to HRN:

The Wine List

The Wine List

The Grape Nation spin- off, The Wine List is a new, fast-paced podcast featuring best in-class wine guests.

Each week host Sam Benrubi asks five questions about his guest’s current wine preferences — the same five questions he’s asked everyone from day one on The Grape Nation!

He talks to winemakers, journalists, wine critics, vineyard owners, authors, sommeliers, importers and more, making the most diverse and interesting recommendations for you to try.

This week’s episode, Benrubi speaks with Lucie Pereyre de Nonancourt, a fourth-generation family member of the House of Laurent Perrier Champagne.

They talk about her family’s legacy, her grandfather’s impact on Champagne and Lucie’s role in the Champagne house. To top it off, they taste and talk about two vintages of their luxury Champagne Grand Siecle and the story behind Heritage, a reserve only Champagne.

The Perfect Escape Upstate Awaits

There’s a strong commitment to local food in Ithaca, NY and with support from our friends at Visit Ithaca, we’re sharing the cheat code to eating (and drinking) like a local!

Spend the morning at the Ithaca Farmer’s Market, where all their produce and products are sourced exclusively within a 30 mile radius.

A community hub for the past 52 years, there’s a good chance that vendor chefs, farmers and makers will be there to tell you about their products.

No fall weekend is complete without a seasonal drink! Ithaca is home to the best wineries, breweries and cideries where fruit grown in heirloom orchards and vineyards has been brewed for generations. Taprooms are open all year.

Finish off your night in Downtown Ithaca at The Commons, a 4 block pedestrian only shopping zone with a variety of restaurants, shops and galleries to explore!
