Taste of the Week

August 26, 2025

Welcome to… Taste of the Week!

It may be the last week of August, but summer isn’t over yet!

This week at Heritage Radio Network, we’re celebrating our award-winning hosts and discovering why a little glitter makes everything better.

Next, our vacation goes stateside as we head back home to explore the rich history and flavors of America’s southern coast.

Come see what’s cooking at HRN—because the future of food starts with a story!

Introducing:

One Bite is Everything with special guest HRN’S
Jennifer Bushman

One Bite is Everything

Hosted by Gage Mitchell, founder of sustainable brand design agency Modern Species and Creative Director at Kindship Group, Brands for a Better World uncovers the stories of the people and companies shaping a more just, healthy, and regenerative future.

This week, Mitchell sits down with Jade Diep, co-founder and CEO of Dr. Glitter, a supplement company blending the sparkle of edible glitter with iron and gut health support.

Together, they dive into the importance of iron, fiber, and probiotics, and the challenge of educating consumers about nutrition.

Diep also shares her entrepreneurial journey—from patenting an innovative nutrient crystal, to entering the U.S. market, to connecting with Gen Z through a retail partnership with Urban Outfitters.

After listening to this episode, we can all agree — glitter makes everything better!

Our Summer Vacation Continues —
Georgia

After traveling the world, we’re heading back home to savor the last days of summer.

With the ocean on our minds, we journey to Coastal Georgia, where chef and farmer Matthew Raiford introduces us to the rich world of Gullah Geechee culture!

This week, we’re featuring Episode 1: Welcome to Gilliard Farms from Jupiter’s Almanac.

Farming is in Matthew Raiford’s blood. He owns Gilliard Farms, purchased 150 years ago by his great-great-great-grandfather, Jupiter Gilliard—the podcast’s namesake.

In this inaugural episode, Matthew and his partner Jovan Sage share what the land is like today and how they keep its legacy alive. The second half of the show explores the history of Coastal Georgia, Gullah Geechee culture, and the foodways Matthew has inherited.

Before you listen, try mixing up the refreshing hibiscus spritzer recipe Jovan shares in the episode!
