Welcome to… Taste of the Week!
This week at Heritage Radio Network, we’re savoring every bite.
We’re debuting a new show that takes us around the globe, one slice of cheese at a time. And our next vacation stop brings the heat, the passion, and the salsa!
Whether it’s tangy, aged cheddar or rich, complex mole, we’re diving into the tastes that define a place and the voices that bring them to life.
Come see what’s cooking at HRN, because the future of food starts with a story.
Introducing:
Food FM: A Slice of Cheese with Jenny Linford
Food writer and author Jenny Linford has long been fascinated by cheese.
With over 20 books to her name, her 2008 title Great British Cheeses was the first fully illustrated guide to British cheese, one that continues to inspire today’s cheesemakers and mongers.
When the pandemic hit, Linford raised the alarm with a widely shared essay, The British Cheese Crisis, urging the public to support struggling producers.
Now, in partnership with Peter’s Yard, Linford travels the world one slice at a time.
In the first episode, she speaks with five cheesemongers, from Australia, Mexico, the U.S., Canada, and the U.K; uncovering the stories behind the cheeses they make and love!
Our storytelling community is made possible by listeners like you!

Our Summer Vacation Continues —
Fourth Stop: Oaxaca
We’re staying down south, but heading back to North America to our friend across the border!
The 3 M’s: Mole, Mezcal, Mexico
Our guides, mother and son duo Zarela Martínez and Aarón Sánchez team up with Bricia Lopez to take us through vibrant Oaxaca in tribute to its food and culture.
This week, we’re featuring Episode 20: Fall in Love With Oaxaca.
Hosted by award winning chefs, restaurateurs, and cookbook authors Zarela Martínez and Aarón Sánchez, Cooking in Mexican from A to Z takes listeners on a culinary journey through the regional ingredients that are the heart and soul of Mexican cuisine.
In this episode, Martínez and Sánchez are joined by restaurateur Bricia Lopez, whose family runs Guelaguetza, the iconic Oaxacan restaurant her father founded 27 years ago.
Together, they explore the rich tapestry of Oaxacan culture, from its vibrant markets and signature ingredients to the deep-rooted traditions of mezcal.
And while we’re here, don’t miss the mole!
The Oaxaca’s signature sauce is as layered and complex as culture itself
