Description:

President Donald Trump has doubled-down on his Hurricane Maria "victory lap," tweeting, yesterday, that he performed "an unappreciated great job in Puerto Rico, even though an inaccessible island with very poor electricity and a totally incompetent Mayor of San Juan."

The tweet comes at an interesting time, as new polling from The Washington Post shows that 52% of polled Puerto Rican residents believe that President Trump did a "poor" job with his handling of the storm and its aftermath.

The poll also suggested that only 15% of residents thought that the President did an "excellent/very good/good" job.

What's more, new polling released from CNN/SSRS is showing unprecedented numbers regarding the amount of voters who believe that President Trump should be removed from office. According to the poll, 47% of voters would like to see the President impeached, compared to 48% who would like him to remain in office.

To put this into historical perspective, in September of 1998, only 29% of voters wanted then-President Clinton impeached, and in August of 2006, 30% of voters thought that then-President Bush should have been removed from his office.

President Trump is also taking favorability hits on his handling of the Mueller probe, with 50% of those polled siding with Robert Mueller, and only 30% siding with the President.

And, according to the same CNN/SSRS poll, 72% of people also believe that the President should testify under oath.

All of these polling figures are up from earlier this summer.

Also, this morning, we'll break down the latest numbers surrounding crucial Senate races in historically GOP-held states across the country that may swing toward a Democratic upset. Republican Strategist Susan Del Percio and Mike Barnicle join the panel to give their insight on the latest odds.

It's Thursday, September 13, 2018. Welcome to Morning Joe.
