Trust Me, I'm a Doctor: President Trump Rails Against Google, 'Fake Reporting,' and 'Fake Books,' Asserts Only He Can Be Trusted

Description:

Last night, the President was in Evansville, Indiana holding a campaign rally when he began criticizing one New York Times reporter for her coverage on the President's previous rally, in West Virginia.

The reporting from The New York Times asserted that President Trump seemed perturbed that some seats in the audience were empty. The President, at last night's rally, responded with, "yeah, they were going to the bathroom..."

This latest attack on the press comes in tandem with a frenzied tweet-storm from the President, criticizing a plethora of social and editorial platforms for pushing their 'fake reporting' agenda.

Just 9 weeks away from the midterm elections, Trump seems to be doubling down on his rally-rousing mantra of the press, media, books, and opponents being the 'enemy of the people,' and that he, himself, must be trusted above all else.

'Enemy of the people,' coincidentally, is exactly how one man described The Boston Globe when he was arrested, yesterday, for threatening to shoot employees of the publication after The Globe's push-back against Trump's attacks on the media.

The man was quoted, outside of a courthouse in Los Angeles praising President Trump, saying, "the United States got saved by having Donald J. Trump elected as President." He concluded his statement by calling the press "bozos."

After a search of the man's home, police found more than 20 weapons.

Also, this morning, we'll bring you new polling from ABC News/The Washington Post showing President Trump's disapproval rating at an all-time high of 60%, up 4% from April.

The poll also shows that 63% of Americans support Robert Mueller's special counsel, and 66% opine that the President should NOT pardon Paul Manafort.

We'll have all of that, this morning, and more, including new insight from Axios's Mike Allen on new speculation surrounding what exactly Robert Mueller may release to the press today, before he "goes quiet" until after the midterm elections.

It's Friday, August 31, 2018. Welcome to Morning Joe.
