Description:

Yesterday morning, President Donald Trump drew ire, once more, over a racially-charged tweet referencing former White House Aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman, saying, "Good work by General Kelly for quickly firing that dog!"

In yesterday's press briefing, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders defended the President's rhetoric by likening it to the many other names and insults that President Trump has tweeted at countless other individuals over recent years.

In the same press conference, however, discussing President Trump's alleged use of the N-word, Sanders admitted that she cannot "guarantee" whether or not the President has used the word. President Trump has denied ever having uttered the N-word.

The Trump Campaign has also announced that it will be taking legal action against Ms. Manigault-Newman for breaking her non-disclosure agreement which she admits to signing, but does not believe that she has breached.

The latest Presidential popularity polling in the wake of the Omarosa revelations shows President Trump in the red on a number of different issues, with most Americans saying that they believe most things the President has said about the Russia investigation to be false.

According to a new Quinnipiac University poll, 66% of Americans implore President Trump to stop tweeting, and 59% dislike him as a person.

This morning, we'll break down these new numbers and the effect that they'll inevitably have on the GOP's performance in the upcoming midterms.

Plus, the latest updates on the trial of Paul Manafort as the defense rests without calling a single witness.

It's Wednesday, August 15, welcome to Morning Joe.
