'America's Mayor' Rudy Giuliani appeared, last night, on 'Hannity' to, once again, discuss the sooner-than-later cessation of Robert Mueller's special counsel, asserting that it will have to end before the first of September, or it will be in "serious violation" of rules set by the Department of Justice. At the time of reporting, there would be no such violation of any such rules from the Department of Justice. Giuliani's tumultuous sit-down with Sean Hannity comes just hours after the President's legal team announced that it will be rejecting Mr. Mueller's offer to interview President Trump and followed up with a counter-offer of their own, including a heavily-modified set of terms. To add fuel to yesterday's media fire, New York Republican Congressman Rep. Chris Collins -- coincidentally the first Congressman to endorse then-Candidate Trump in 2016 -- has been charged with insider trading, allegedly working to avoid large losses on an investment in an Australian biotech company. Collins, speaking yesterday to the press, denied the charges, calling them "merit-less" and reaffirmed that he will remain on the ballot, this November. Also making headlines, this morning: new tapes have been released of Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), secretly recorded at a fundraiser for Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) in Spokane, Washington last week, saying that the impeachment of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein should be held off, as to not affect the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Nunes also reportedly told donors that a Republican majority in Congress is imperative to protect the President. It's Thursday, August 9, 2018. Welcome to Morning Joe. |
