With only 99 days left until the 2018 Midterm Elections, President Donald Trump has taken to Twitter, once more, to degrade Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian collusion, and, more notably, threaten to hurl the federal government into a shutdown over funding for the border-wall. The tweets leaving many GOP representatives scrambling for damage control. We'll read from Joe's latest op-ed in The Washington Post -- covering how congressional Republicans up for re-election can handle Trump's "Unforgiving Pull" of negative conservative press going into the Midterms. Meanwhile, on Friday, the President touted new numbers on the economy from the Rose Garden of the White House -- most of which were either heavily exaggerated or flat-out incorrect. Morning Joe Economic Analyst Steve Rattner joins us to break down what exactly the President was saying, and how the latest figures stack up to previous administrations. And, later in the episode, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) is on-set to discuss the latest on the Trump Administration's "careless and incompetent" response to separated migrant children and the judge-ordered promise of reunification. We'll cover that and Rudy Giuliani's new punches thrown at Michael Cohen's credibility, this morning. It's Monday, July 30, 2018. Welcome to Morning Joe. |
