While taking questions after a cabinet meeting, yesterday, President Donald Trump, once again, alluded to the fact that Russia was no longer a credible threat in the swaying of upcoming elections in the United States. One reporter present asked the President if Russia was "still targeting the U.S." To which President Trump responded, "Thank you very much. No." White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders expounded upon the President's answer, clarifying that he meant to say "thank you very much, no more questions," and that Russia still may be a threat. Continuing his damage control tour, President Trump, on "CBS Evening News," last night, conceded that Vladimir Putin would be held personally responsible for any election meddling because he is "in charge of the country." Also happening, this morning: after President Trump called Vladimir Putin's request to interrogate U.S. officials on the alleged Russian election meddling an "incredible offer," the White House is reportedly considering handing over Fmr. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul to the Russian State for questioning. Fmr. Ambassador McFaul joins us, this morning, with his reaction to the President's thoughts. It's Thursday, July 19, 2018. Welcome to Morning Joe. |
