President Donald Trump, yesterday, in a joint press conference with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, downplayed the findings of several U.S. intelligence agencies and bipartisan congressional committees, and the existence of an entire federal investigation against him, to side with President Putin on the issue of Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Trump saying, "I don't see any reason why it would be [Russia]." Drawing more ire and head-shaking from both sides of the aisle is President Putin's now-public sentiment of support for President Trump's 2016 campaign, saying that he wanted Trump to win. Despite a wide array of Republican backlash against President Trump -- including from Rep. Paul Ryan and Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, no legislation nor general action is currently on the table against Russia, President Trump, or President Putin. It's Tuesday, July 17th, 2018.
