The President, this morning, is on his way to Brussels, Belgium to attend this year's North Atlantic Treaty Organization Summit -- which begins tomorrow -- but not without testing the waters, first. President Trump tweeted, just hours ago, before even taking off in Air Force One, "NATO countries must pay MORE, the United States must pay LESS. Very Unfair!" This particularly contentious NATO Summit comes on the heels of the announcement of the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh as President Trump's pick to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, who officially leaves at the end of this month. Kavanaugh's nomination has many Senate Democrats protesting a number of his judicial stances -- particularly on pre-existing conditions under the Affordable Care Act, and the Roe v. Wade decision. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) joins us to discuss the blue fear of a possible overturning of Roe v. Wade and the Affordable Care Act. On the other side of the aisle, Senator James Lankford (R-OK) also joins the panel to substantiate the President's pick and his upcoming summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. It's Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Welcome to Morning Joe. |
