According to President Donald Trump, just a few weeks ago, the United States would be able to "sleep well tonight" knowing that a war with North Korea was no longer imminent -- a threat that has been looming over the U.S.' head since the Korean War. However, new reporting from NBC News and The Wall Street Journal has revealed that the country, led by Kim Jong-un, has been going against its word with the U.S. and has increased production of nuclear weapons. The country, reportedly. is actively expanding its nuclear program with secret sites. National Security Adviser John R. Bolton attempted to downplay the situation by assuring the American people that, within a year, North Korea will be completely denuclearized. Meanwhile, in the wake of a monstrous influx of tariffs against the United States from Canada and the European Union in response to his tense trade war, President Trump is actively pursuing withdrawing the United States from the World Trade Organization...without formally withdrawing. Legislation proposed by the Trump Administration would allow the President to increase U.S. tariffs at-will, without Congressional approval, and operate outside the guidelines of the WTO without actually leaving the organization. That said, U.S. officials close to the President have revealed the President's desire to cut ties with the organization, altogether. It's the first Monday of July, the 2nd, welcome to Morning Joe. |
