Description:

Yesterday, Hurricane Michael, one of the largest and fastest-growing hurricanes in United States history, made landfall, eyeing the Florida panhandle and the Southeastern United States. And, while the storm has since been dramatically downgraded since hitting the gulf coast, it produced maximum sustained winds of over 150 miles per hour as a Category 4 hurricane.

At the time of reporting, Hurricane Michael has already taken two lives, one of whom is an 11-year-old girl.

Authorities are expecting the death toll to rise over the coming days, as several Florida residents have been reporting incidences of roofs being torn buildings, and, according to new reporting from CNN, entire brick walls being blown-over.

President Donald Trump, meanwhile, spent his afternoon and evening in Pennsylvania, hosting a campaign fundraiser that was said to bring in over $250,000 to benefit his re-election bid.

The President, afterward, hosted a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania where he extended his best wished to those affected by Hurricane Michael, saying, in part, "I wanna send our thoughts and prayers of our entire nation to everyone in the path of Hurricane Michael, especially in the Florida panhandle ... all of America sends its unwavering love and support."

The rally's tone quickly shifted, however, to mocking the "#MeToo" movement, and alleging that the Russians had colluded with Hillary Clinton and the Democrats.

Also, this morning, we'll bring you the latest developments on missing Washington Post columnist, Jamal Khashoggi -- including the release of never-read text messages received by Khashoggi as he entered the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) and "Morning Joe First Look" host Ayman Mohyeldin join Joe and the panel to discuss a potential response from the United States, taking into account the countries' long-standing relationship.

And, Steve Kornacki is here to break down new Senate race polling and President Trump's latest affinity for, and trust in, poll numbers...but only if they favor Republicans and himself.

It's Thursday, October 11th, 2018. Welcome to Morning Joe.
