Description:

Restaurateur, television star and cookbook author Lidia Bastianich discusses her memoir My American Dream: A Life of Love, Family, and Food. She tells the story of how she escaped her native Istria after WWII and spent years in a former Nazi concentration camp until emigrating to America. She landed in New York, married, and started a restaurant in Queens. She soon became the grande dame of Italian cooking in America, ultimately launching the popular Eataly network of retail-restaurant megastores across the U.S.

Bastianich will give a reading and book signing at the Barnes & Noble in Clifton, New Jersey on April 8 at 2 pm.

This segment is guest hosted by Jonathan Capehart.
