Lauren Hilgers talks about her new book, Patriot Number One: American Dreams in Chinatown. Hilgers weaves the personal stories of Zhuang Liehong and Little Yan together with a larger investigation into the Chinese community in Flushing, Queens, one of the fastest-growing immigrant enclaves in the United States.
Hilgers will give a reading at the Tenement Museum on April 18 at 6:30 pm for their PEN Literary Quest and Book Signing, part of the PEN World Voices Festival.
Hilgers will be part of a moderated talk on April 4 at 7 pm at Chappaqua Library and will give a talk/Q&A on April 20 at 1:30 pm at Flushing Public Library.
