Kent Russell discusses his story for HuffPost’s Highline titled, “The Disaster Tourist.” Russell investigated a China-based travel group called Young Pioneer Tours, the group that University of Virginia student Otto Warmbier was with in North Korea when he was arrested for stealing a poster. The group claims to offer adventure tours to “geopolitical fault lines.” Russell joined the “Caucuses Combo” tour to find out what - if anything - the company does to protect its clients in some of the most isolated and politically volatile regions of the world.
