Category: Society & Culture
Duration:
Publish Date: 2018-03-08 10:19:54
Description:

Uzodinma (Uzo) Iweala discusses his critically-acclaimed novel Speak No Evil. The story focuses on the relationship between two privileged teenagers in Washington D.C. from very different families - one Nigerian-American, and the other from Washington insiders. The friends make a revelation which sets off a chain of events with devastating consequences, and forces them to face the consequences of living in a conformist, conservative society.

Iweala will be in conversation with Neel Mukherjee on March 8 at 7:30 pm in the Kaufmann Concert Hall at the 92nd St Y (1395 Lexington Avenue).

Iweala will be at the Franklin Park Reading Series: Ninth Anniversary Event on March 12 at 8 pm (Franklin Park, 618 St. Johns Place, Brooklyn).

Iweala will be in conversation with Larissa MacFarquhar on March 14 at 7:30 pm at the Fort Greene Greenlight Bookstore (686 Fulton Street, Brooklyn).

This segment is guest hosted by DW Gibson.
