Christmas: A Lesson From Charles Fillmore

Category: Religion & Spirituality
Duration:
Publish Date: 2011-12-20 14:00:00
Description: This week's lesson is entitled "Christmas," and was given by Charles Fillmore on December 19, 1923. Fillmore reflects on his view of how Christmas came about, connecting it to the various celebrations of what he called "barbarians." In the talk he shares about what the angels said: "Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth, goodwill to men." Fillmore takes a literal view and I give it a metaphysical twist. Toward the end, Fillmore explains what holy communion is, defining the bread as Substance and the wine as Life. In The Revealing Word, we simply explore the term "evil." This rich explanation of evil pulls in some of Charles Fillmore's basic underlying beliefs. Most importantly, Fillmore states, "He [man = men and women] can do away with evil by learning rightly to use the one Power. If there were a power of evil, it could not be changed."
