Our hope is to offer our thoughts going through the entire book over the next several months. Tonight we discuss the first half the preface to the book in which Lewis offers an explanation for why he wrote the book, and his attempt to, "expound 'mere' Christianity, which is what it is and what it was long before I was born and whether I like it or not." We discuss the humility that Lewis wrote with in his honest attempt to "explain and defend the belief that has been common to nearly all Christians at all times.".
