Although it may seem as if it is some "secret" society, there is true effort by the group to keep themselves in the shadows necessarily. We discuss the limits of their teachings and up to what he was not able to discuss because of secrecy. So, while the group, its existence and members don't need to be kept hidden, some information that they teach seemingly does.
