About Dr. Maxine Langdon Starr

Maxine Langdon Starr, Ph.D., LMFT is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works in her own private practice in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. She is the owner-partner of Sunflower Therapies and is contracted with her local school district helping students in special education who have behavioral, emotional, and/or social difficulties. As an adjunct professor of Psychology at Brandman University  she has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in the field.

Maxine is also contributing writer for YourTango and maintains an active blog on relationships and self-care issues. She has given numerous presentations on collaborating with Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs), self-care for professionals, professional development, and working with adolescents. She typically works with children, adolescents, couples, individuals, and families on issues relating to relationships, anxiety, stress, depression, transitions, work-life balance, and self-esteem.
