President Donald Trump’s administration said it will soon resume collections on defaulted student loans for the first time in five years. The office of Federal Student Aid may start taking funds out of borrowers' tax refunds, Social Security benefits and — eventually — paychecks.
The Department of Education says borrowers in default should start making monthly payments or enroll in an income-driven repayment plan.
