“I don’t think there’s a single narrative of how I’ve assembled my career. I just try to do things that are interesting to me. But it has involved wearing a lot of different hats. And speaking out in public on your own platform can be really difficult to reconcile those different roles. … I am a feminist and I go on TV and I sometimes want conservatives to talk to me. I’ve covered media, but I’ve also covered politics. So, I think one of the reasons to be really judicious with what you say on social media is that you don’t want to foreclose on the options for yourself for someone to think that you’re fair. I think that I’m much more conservative about that than I used to be — but part of it is because I have more to lose now.”
