The Atlanta Falcons nabbed one of the few blue-chip prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft when they selected Texas RB Bijan Robinson in the first round. Host Aaron Freeman is joined by guest Damian Parson (@LockedOnNFLDraft) to break down how Robinson is the do-it-all running back that has been put in a perfect situation to blossom in Atlanta.
They discuss the notion of “positional value” and if the Falcons care about it due to selecting a running back and guard as high as they did with Robinson and Syracuse offensive lineman Matthew Bergeron in the first two rounds. Damian also discusses why he was high on Falcons fourth-round cornerback Clark Phillips, and why he still has lingering questions about the team’s third-round selection in defensive end Zach Harrison. He also likes the value the team got in seventh-round safety DeMarcco Hellams.
Later, they turn their attention to whether or not the Falcons have done enough via the draft and this offseason to put themselves atop the NFC South and compete for a postseason spot. They discuss if Arthur Smith’s play-calling will bring balance to the Falcons offense and if the team will be able to win close games.
