The Atlanta Falcons could potentially land the best player in the 2023 NFL Draft should Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter slide to them with the eighth overall selection. Damian Parson (@LockedOnNFLDraft) and host Aaron Freeman discuss how he could be a great pickup for the Falcons despite some lingering concerns about his maturity that could cause him to slide in the draft. They discuss how he compares with past top defensive tackles like Quinnen Williams and Ndamukong Suh.
Later, they discuss why Oregon cornerback Christian Gonzalez also would be a great first-round pickup for the Falcons and how he and Falcons corner A.J. Terrell could become a top duo in the NFL that can allow creativity and flexibility within the Falcons defense. Then, they discuss how Gonzalez’s lack of ball production impacts his evaluation from his days at Colorado.
Then, Damian shares a couple of pass-rushers that the Falcons could nab on all three days of the draft including Myles Murphy (Clemson), Nolan Smith (Georgia), Derick Hall (Auburn), and Nick Herbig (Wisconsin). Finally, Aaron discusses Illinois CB Devon Witherspoon's private pro day and whether or not it increases the odds that he is the Falcons' first-round selection
