One of the Atlanta Falcons’ top free agent targets is not expected to hit the open market in March. With numerous reports indicating that Washington Commanders defensive tackle Da’Ron Payne is likely to get the franchise tag, the Falcons will have to look for help along their defensive line elsewhere. There may be few free agents on par with Payne, but Aaron Freeman breaks down why he isn’t worried about the team missing out on adding Payne. He explains why Payne potentially landing a larger contract than Grady Jarrett wouldn’t work out well within the locker room and why there are plenty of fish in the sea so to speak with other alternative options the Falcons could sign. He also discusses the re-signing of Falcons long snapper Liam McCullough, and why he’s skeptical of the idea to bring recently released Tennessee Titans in wide receiver Robert Woods and offensive tackle Taylor Lewan to Atlanta.
