Nielsen lacks experience as a defensive coordinator but is an up-and-coming coach with a bright future ahead of him. The experience he does possess is coaching up defensive linemen and pass rushers, as his arrival in New Orleans coincided with a massive jump in sack production that has led to them being one of the premier pass-rushing teams for the past six seasons.
