The Atlanta Falcons have requested interviews for several candidates to fill their vacant defensive coordinator position, including Brian Flores, Ryan Nielsen, and Jerry Gray. Flores, currently with the Pittsburgh Steelers and formerly with the Miami Dolphins, is perhaps the most interesting candidate given his more aggressive, man coverage-heavy scheme. But would Flores want to come to Atlanta? Ryan Nielsen, currently with the New Orleans Saints, is an up-and-coming candidate looking to prove he's not your typical defensive line coach. Aaron Freeman breaks down what potential personnel and schematic changes the Falcons would make if they hired either one of those two. Other candidates include Jerry Gray (Green Bay Packers) who has past connections with Arthur Smith. However, one candidate that may not be in the cards is current Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, who was blocked from interviewing by Denver, reminiscent of the time they prevented the Falcons from hiring Gary Kubiak as offensive coordinator back in 2019.
