Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Dean Pees is finally retiring after 50 years in the business. Aaron Freeman discusses Pees' legacy and why he won't get enough credit for successfully building an assignment-sound, bend-but-don't-break defense. The Falcons will reportedly conduct a "wide search" for Pees' replacement, and Aaron discusses some possible internal candidates as well as candidates from outside the organization that do and do not have connections to head coach Arthur Smith. Finally, he breaks down what he's looking for in his ideal defensive coordinator, and why he's more focused on the team's free-agent signings and draft picks than who's calling the defense.
