Description: Finally, Some good news today.   In Australia researchers have uncovered a technique to help people overcome peanut allergies to the point where they can tolerate peanuts, and peanut products, for up to four years!   More interestingly, the breakthrough came with use of probiotics.   Why is this interesting?   What the article doesn't mention is that prior to this time the rapid expansion of peanut allergies, and other food allergies, has been in some significant part, thought to be genetic in nature.   The underlying idea and one that we don't gloss over, is that by adding a requirement, in this case gut bacteria, there was a completely altered immunological response to a food. A food that in certain sad circumstances can be deadly.   Peanut allergies among children, which are now commonplace, seemed to hardly exist even a few decades ago.   How can that be?
