A week after Governor Gavin Newsom blasted our state’s largest utility over its picks for a new board of directors, PG&E publicly released an update list, late Wednesday. But the Governor’s office still is not pleased. A spokesperson for Newsom said PG&E’s new leadership proposal, which includes former coal executive Bill Johnson as CEO, represents wall street interests and the nominees lack relevant California experience.
Days before filing for bankruptcy in late January, PG&E abruptly announced it would abandon the relicensing of a hydroelectric project which provides water to at least four California counties. Now the dropped Potter Valley Project is going up for auction and if a solution isn’t found, hundreds of thousands of people could be left with a lot less water. Reporter: Hope McKenney
