Reporter: Sara Hossaini No Changes Coming to State Wildfire Liability Law This Year For months, PG&E and California’s other large utilities have been pushing for a change to state law so it’s harder to sue electrical companies when their equipment causes a fire. They even had support from Gov. Jerry Brown, who wrote legislation that would have softened California’s liability law. But late Friday, the lawmaker leading the state’s special wildfire committee said the liability change pushed by PG&E will not get a vote this year.
