Six others were wounded. According to San Bernardino Police Captain Richard Lawhead, the neighborhood is known to have gang activity. Reporter: Lily Jamali Hate Speech on Facebook Linked to Real-World Violence The rise of white nationalism has been in the spotlight since the 2016 presidential election. Many suspect social media plays a role, but scholars at the University of Warwick in the U.K. wanted to quantify this. So they went to Germany, where they looked at the link between anti-refugee sentiment expressed on Facebook and actual violence.
