In his new book “Pogrom,” Stanford historian Steven Zipperstein reexamines a notorious campaign of horrific violence against Russian Jews. Zipperstein reveals new information, and dispels some myths, about the 1903 attacks that injured hundreds and claimed 49 Jewish lives in Kishinev, now Chişinău in Moldova. Zipperstein joins us to discuss “Pogrom,” and what Kishinev says about contemporary concerns over anti-Semitism.
