California Secretary of State Alex Padilla announced Monday that an initiative to repeal the gas tax has received enough signatures to appear on the November ballot. The measure would require transportation taxes to be approved by voters and would nullify SB1, passed last year, which raised gas prices and vehicle registration fees to pay for road and transit projects. We discuss the repeal effort as campaigns on both sides ramp up for an expensive election season.
