How to Talk with Kids about Pot (Now that it’s Legal)

Category: News & Politics
Duration: 00:28:37
Publish Date: 2018-06-07 11:30:00
Description:

Recreational marijuana became legal in California earlier this year. That is, unless you are under under 21. But with easier access and aggressive advertising, children’s exposure to weed will inevitably increase. And with so many methods of consumption, a wide range of potency, and obscure vernacular, it can be a complicated topic to broach with kids. Previous approaches–like those used for alcohol or illegal drugs–may not be sufficient. We talk with KQED health reporter, Carrie Feibel, and UCSF psychologist Danielle Ramo, about how to discuss weed with children.
