Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg faced Congress Tuesday, submitting to lawmakers’ demands that he explain how Cambridge Analytica, a data firm hired by President Trump’s campaign, accessed millions of Facebook users’ personal information. Zuckerberg apologized for his company’s failure to “take a broad enough view of our responsibility” to protect user privacy and control the proliferation of fake news. He also confirmed that Facebook is working with special counsel Robert Mueller in his investigation of Russian election meddling. We analyze the testimony so far.
