Description:

It’s one of the largest redevelopment efforts ever undertaken in San Francisco: The Hunters Point Naval Shipyard is slated to get 12,000 new housing units as well as office and commercial space. But the former nuclear research lab and waste dump was so contaminated at one point that the government classified it as a Superfund site. Now, a newly released EPA review reveals that the Navy understated the scope of cleanup and that some of the soil samples may have been falsified by contractors.
