German-born political scientist Yascha Mounk gained attention in 2016 with an article arguing that youth in the West were fed up with democracy and open to alternatives. In his new book, “The People vs. Democracy,” Mounk underscores that thesis and examines how an erosion of trust in government institutions and processes is putting democracy at risk. Mounk joins us to discuss the book and what can be done to keep democracy intact.
