Thirteen Bay Area residents, including Stanford’s sailing coach, were among the 50 people charged Tuesday in a major college admissions bribery scheme. The indictment alleges that suspects paid standardized test proctors to doctor their children’s results and bribed college coaches to recruit kids who had never played a sport to gain entrance to schools such as Stanford, USC and Yale.
