Department Signs Net Neutrality Rules Into Law, Department of Justice Sues

Category: News & Politics

Description: Sunday afternoon, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law the strongest net neutrality rules in the nation. The regulations mirror Obama-era rules repealed by the FCC that prohibit internet service providers from blocking, speeding up or slowing down internet traffic and from charging for faster service. Shortly after Brown signed the bill, the federal government announced that it is suing California over the law. In a statement, Attorney General Jeff Sessions called the new rules illegal and an "illegal state law attempting to frustrate federal policy." In this segment, we'll discuss California's new net neutrality rules and the justice department's lawsuit. And we want to hear from you -- what do you think about the new new net neutrality protections and ensuing legal challenges?
