Description: Earlier this year, the Trump Administration took away the legal status of over 300,000 people from El Salvador, Nicaragua, Haiti and Sudan, who had formerly been protected by their Temporary Protected Status, or TPS. On Wednesday, a federal district judge issued a preliminary injunction blocking the termination of TPS. The legal challenge comes on the heels of a new Department of Homeland Security report made public Tuesday, which discloses harsh conditions at the Adelanto immigration detention facility in Southern California. Investigators discovered dangerous conditions, including bedsheet nooses in cells and year-long waitlists for medical attention. Forum discusses the latest immigration news.
