Giants' rookie Carlos Moncrief took a long, winding road to reach the Major League level and over the weekend, he sat down with KNBR.com Giants beat reporter Kerry Crowley to discuss his journey. Moncrief began his career as a pitcher in the Indians' organization, but transitioned to the outfield after a brief stint as a reliever. A father of four, Moncrief said he played winter ball to help feed his children, and told Crowley that his father suggested he get his truck driver's license after he was designated for assignment by the Indians in 2015.
